Our Services
ACES Monitoring delivers comprehensive services for carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) monitoring systems across commercial and industrial environments. Our work includes system design and installation, controls integration, ongoing maintenance, calibration and retrofit services, all focused on long-term performance, code compliance and dependable operation.
We take a lifecycle approach to every system we support, looking beyond initial installation to consider how each component performs, ages and is maintained over time. This perspective allows us to help facilities reduce risk, avoid surprises and plan proactively for system upgrades while maintaining safe, compliant operations year after year. ACES Monitoring can help you:
Protect occupants and property by detecting unsafe carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxide levels before they become hazardous.
Meet applicable code requirements for gas monitoring and ventilation control, including federal, state and local standards such as IMC, IFC, NFPA and OSHA.
Reduce energy costs by operating exhaust fans only when gas levels require it rather than running systems continuously.
Lower operational and risk exposure by reducing the likelihood of system failures, emergency shutdowns and gas-related incidents that can impact insurance and liability.
Sensor Installation
We install electrochemical CO and NO₂ sensors designed for accuracy, durability and reliable performance in demanding environments. Sensors are placed based on airflow, ceiling height, vehicle patterns and layout to ensure timely detection and proper ventilation response.
Electrochemical sensors generate an electrical signal proportional to gas concentration, which is converted to a parts-per-million (ppm) reading and evaluated against programmed thresholds.
Each sensor typically covers 5,000 to 10,000 square feet depending on conditions. All installations are turn-key and include startup, verification and on-site training.
Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Installation
Variable Frequency Drives allow ventilation fans to operate dynamically rather than simply turning fully on or off.
By adjusting fan speed in response to real-time gas levels, VFDs significantly reduce energy consumption while maintaining safe conditions.
When paired with gas monitoring systems, VFDs allow fans to ramp up gradually and operate at reduced speeds once gas levels normalize. In most facilities, partial-speed operation is sufficient 90–95% of the time. This reduces electrical consumption, mechanical wear and noise while extending equipment life.
Maintenance & Calibration
Gas sensors degrade over time and must be regularly tested and calibrated to remain accurate and compliant.
Without routine maintenance, sensors may drift, causing systems to activate ventilation too frequently—or not at all—creating safety and regulatory risk.
Service visits include application of certified test gas to each sensor, verification of alarm setpoints, inspection of controls and relays and confirmation that ventilation equipment responds correctly. Clients receive detailed documentation suitable for fire department inspections, insurance reviews and compliance records.
Retrofit & End-of-Life Replacement
Most gas detection equipment carries a UL-rated life expectancy of 10–12 years. After that point, sensor accuracy can drift, component failures become more likely and system reliability can no longer be assured. Aging equipment also increases the risk of false alarms, missed events and non-compliance with current codes and standards.
We assess existing gas monitoring systems in place and develop phased retrofit strategies that prioritize safety, performance and continuity of operations. Our approach allows facilities to upgrade to modern, code-compliant equipment with minimal disruption, controlled costs and a clear path toward long-term system reliability.
Products & Manufacturers
ACES Monitoring installs and services gas detection and motor control equipment from most major manufacturers. Our technicians are experienced across a wide range of platforms, controls architectures and sensing technologies, allowing us to support both legacy systems and modern installations.
Because we are vendor-agnostic, our recommendations are driven by lifecycle value, reliability and long-term serviceability rather than brand preference. This approach gives our clients practical solutions that fit their facilities, budgets and operational goals while ensuring systems remain supportable for years to come.
